The Cummings School of 体系结构 has received grant support in 2023 and 2024 from the Southern New England Educational and Charitable Foundation (SNEC) to establish a Preservation Experiential Learning Fund, whose goal is to expand the reach of Preservation education and internship experiences through collaborative team teaching, 顾问访问, and experiential field experiences in coursework and student internships. There are few undergraduate or graduate preservation programs in the United States, yet the relevance and need of preservation education in preparation for multiple fields of practice including preservation, 体系结构, 规划, 房地产, 法律, construction management and others is extensive and of enormous value.

到目前为止, our collaborative team teaching has involved elective and required 体系结构 and Preservation coursework includes activities where teams composed of Preservation, 体系结构, Urban and Regional Planning students undertake collaborative projects, and are also supported in field experiences and site visits. Internships have involved students working in for-profit 体系结构 firms, non-profit preservation organizations, and government organizations undertaking Preservation related work.
